School - hospital partnership
Trivia Night Case Study
Magdalene Trivia Night has been running as a successful fundraiser for the Children's Hospital at Westmead since 2007. The great success of the night over the years for both the IPT students of Magdalene and the children at the hospital prompted the hospital to use the trivia night as a case study for other potential fundraising events with the night featuring in the hospital's fundraising handbook and on the Hospital's Website.
In 2014 Magdalene Catholic High School become premier partners of the Children's Hospital at Westmead having raised in excess of $50,000 for the children's hospital. Mr Cornett and Mr Collins attended a special evening to recognise the achievement and to receive a special award from the hospital on behalf of the school and the TAS department.
Hospital Heroes DAY
Hospital Heroes Mufti Days began in 2014 under the leadership of a very determined team of students who wanted to make a difference in their community and raise much needed funds for the Children's Hospital at Westmead. In doing so a tradition was born.
This years Hospital Heroes day will be held on Friday 17th July 2015.
Sydney children's hospital network - advisory group program
This year we have three students participating in the advisory group for the network of Children's Hospitals in Sydney which includes the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
This program includes a selected few students across NSW who participate and discuss clinical research in regards to the health of young adolescents and children. Innovation, collaboration and communication skills from the students are harnessed in order to improve current and future clinical research outcomes to benefit those children who are suffering from disease.
